Today we want to show you how to create a simple elastic slideshow with a thumbnail preview. The slideshow will adjust automatically to its surrounding container and we can navigate through the slides by using the thumbnail previewer or the autoplay slideshow option.
To make this slideshow responsive, we will use a mixture of JavaScript and CSS techniques.
FeedFetcher is a jQuery plugin that aggregates and embeds feed(s) from Facebook users, applications, and fan pages as well as tweets from given users and/or mentioning given users.
It has convenience features including a post-fetch callback, ability to use multiple display formats, stripping out Twitter @ replies, and filtering Facebook wall posts by type and/or author.
Inspired by the great idea of David Walsh’s jQuery topLink Plugin, I made a similar plugin but with two key differences, this one does not require you to add extra html markup or extra plugins to function. It will only work when JavaScript is turned on ( on purpose ), It’s easy to setup with only one line of code, and it works cross-browser nicely ( Tested: IE6-8, FF, Safari ).
Optionally it can benefit from the jQuery Easing plugin with a different easing animation for the page scrolling.
Hello and welcome, this is an advanced version of pirobox, I implemented a few things more than the previous version. One of the most important things is the ability to open any kind of files, from inLine content to the swf files, from simple images to pdf files. Other things are: automatic image resizing and drag and drop.
I’m currently working with Silverlight and implemented unlimited scroll. This is a great technique that could be used on loads of websites. Instead of the regular pagination, where the user has to click to see the next page, unlimited scroll automatically loads the next page when the user is at the bottom.
I wanted to take this technique and port it to another jQuery example. So the quickie for today is Unlimited scroll using jQuery. I’ve using the Twitter API to make the example, so you’ll learn a little bit about JSON too…
I thought about making one using jQuery. And I sort of did. It’s not exactly a “kinetic animation” but it just somewhat like it. And its very small. Usually kinetic animations are of at least a minute, this is just a few seconds. But hey, it’s all done using jQuery. This is just done to show that a kinetic animation can really be achieved using jQuery. I, being a jQuery n00b for now (and more when I made this), couldn’t do more with it. I still don’t know if we can rotate text in jQ, else that’ll be COOL!
This little jQuery plugin which does exactly what it says on the tin – creates a page peel! This is a little page animation which sits at the top right hand of the screen and when the mouse hovers it the page “peels” down and reveals the content behind it. It could be used to display a popular area or feature of your website but is most commonly known these days to display advertisements. Let’s face it the page peel grabs your attention straight away!
