Of late there has been a UI trend of page elements (usually navigation items) that scroll with the rest of the page until they reach the top of the browser window. At this point those elements stop moving, while the rest of the page’s content continues to scroll up behind them. This trick – referred to variously as “scroll to top then fixed” or “fixed floating elements” can’t be achieved with CSS alone, at least at this stage; we must integrate some JavaScript (for this example, in the form of JQuery) to pull the effect off.

You can create layers (we recommend to use PNG images) and position them (by adding left and top properties) inside their container element. After that if you use Layers 3D plugin on the container element the layers will be moving if you scroll on your page (or – optional – if you move your mouse cursor over the element).
xSquare is a responsive jQuery image slider. It has a layout that consists of grids making it useful for variety of web page positions. Though the main purpose of the image slider is within a banner position it can easily be implemented as an image gallery or something similar because it is compatible with lightbox, prettyPhoto etc. The loading of images is done via smart lazyLoad with an implemented loader. Kiandra is pleased to announce the open sourcing of a jQuery UI theme we think you’re going to love. We have been using the “Delta” theme for the better part of a year and made the decision to share it with the community. We’re hoping this results in plenty of feedback as well as the continued development of the theme. It’s free for commercial, personal and educational use as part of the MIT or GPL license.
If anything, we think that this theme can act as a starting point for other smart cookies to create their own visually engaging jQuery UI themes.
The Expander Plugin hides (collapses) a portion of an element’s content and adds a “read more” link so that the text can be viewed by the user if he or she wishes. By default, the expanded content is followed by a “read less” link that the user can click to re-collapse it. Expanded content can also be re-collapsed after a specified period of time.
